Dear Families,
Happy New Year!
We very much hope that you have had an enjoyable break and we are very much looking forward to welcoming all of our pupils back to school tomorrow (Wednesday 7th January 2026).
Good news: our recent kitchen issues have been resolved and full cooked lunch service will resume tomorrow. Once again, thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding.
You will have noticed that the ice has arrived. We are forecast rain later today and warmer temperatures for the rest of this week however:
- Some areas may be icy (especially first thing), please remind your child/children to keep to the cleared pathways and not go to any icy or roped off areas. We are making all efforts to keep as much of the site ice free, but wet weather will make this more difficult.
- Make sure that your child has a warm coat to wear outside.
- If your child feels the cold, please ensure that they have layers on, including some they can remove if they do become too warm. Our classrooms often start cold (especially with children coming in through classroom doors, but warm up quickly. Children will not be allowed to wear coats indoors, as it is important they have these to feel warm when they go outside.
- Children will be asked not to throw ice/snow.
We will continue to monitor the weather forecasts and send out updated advice.
At the moment there is ice on Dinsdale Gardens and Tennison Road. Please take care, there appears to be a clearer side to each road, including Selhurst Road. So take care when travelling in and give yourself a bit more time to ensure you arrive safely before the classroom doors close at 8:50am.
Best wishes,
The Heavers Farm Team
