OUR GOVERNING  BODY

We meet as a governing body at least once a term. We also have two committees which also meet once a term; the Quality of Education Committee and the Resources Committee. Governors sit on at least one committee each year. For the list of who sits on what committee, please see the list below.

Our Clerk is Mel Brown. She is responsible for the leadership, organisation, administration and clerking arrangements for our governing body.

The Governing Body is composed as follows:

What do governors do?

We have taken some of the following information from the National Governors Association (NGA).

School governors are people who want to make a positive contribution to children’s education.

Governors are one of the largest volunteer forces in the country and have an important part to play in raising school standards. The role of the governing body is absolutely key to the effectiveness of a school.
